Update & Repost - Exciting News & A little bit about us!

Well after many late nights packing & labeling coins, we are finally all settled into our new location in Huntsville, Texas.  We are very happy to announce we have added a THIRD location !!  As you know we have booths in Dovetail Antiques in Katy, Texas and Blues Alley in Navasota, Texas.  Well now you can find our coins in McAdams Antiques in Huntsville, Texas.  It has been a lot of work to prepare for, but has been well worth it!  We are very excited to be a part of yet another wonderful community.  The people we have met in this process have been so nice and welcoming - Thanks !!   Our owner - Billy Sr has added my husband, his son, Billy Jr to our group of hard workers and we are so happy to have him! 

I wanted to tell you a little about ourselves, what we sell & how we work.  I know we have had this blog for a short time, but I want you to get to know us & we would love to get to know you.  Meeting all of our wonderful customers is a joy to us.  We sell a lot of different things in our shops, but primarily we buy and sell coins.  When I started working with my father in law, Billy, I wondered how he met all of his customers and where he got all of his coins from.....  Well simply put it is by word of mouth!   A lot of people do not realize the value of old coins - they either inherit collections, find an old coin, or started a collection years ago & let it sit.  Sometimes this is a good thing.  Many people inherit collections or start collections with family & don't know what to do with it.   If you are one of these people and are wanting to find out the value & interested in selling, let us know, we would be happy to meet you and take a look at what you have.  We pretty much work by appointments, so let us know two dates you might be available to meet with us and we can go from there.  The best way to get a hold of us is to email us - we have two email addresses now (just in case you see both of them)  Send us a quick message .... In addition to coins, we sell a lot of other really cool collectibles, scroll through, look at the pictures, we have a lot to see !  We have a lot of vintage neon beer signs, decorative whiskey decanters, antique furniture & decor, proof sets, commemorative coins, and much much more!

(**UPDATE 9-22-12 - We have expanded our shop space in McAdams in Huntsville, we are very excited to now offer more coins and collectibles to our customers!!  We are now selling collecting supplies, books, binders, and lots of great things to get your collections started or organized!  We are also very happy to start offering an adorable collection of Piggy Banks - I thought this would be a great way to get kids involved in collecting, and well they are pretty stinking cute !!  This is something we are very excited about - if you have not been out to McAdams - make it a point to come visit ASAP!! We are not that far from the Houston area, drop by and spend the afternoon in Huntsville. **)

Really Cool Collectibles !

So I'm sure if you are looking at our blog you see that we have a lot of Beer Signs and coins and some other fun stuff, but we have a LOT of things that I've never seen before now.  Have you ever seen decorative whiskey decanters?  Apparently they are quite the collector's item.  We have a LOT to look at, so check out some of them ..... maybe they would look good with those beer signs you are considering???

It's been a little while

Well hello everyone !!  It's been forever and a day since my last post & I'm sorry for that.  With the holidays & all things got a little crazy.  I hope you all had a wonderful blessed holiday season.  and by the way ... HAPPY NEW YEAR !! 

So we are working on getting pictures of our inventory, pictures should be coming around soon, just have to get out to the shops.  We still have a nice collection of neon beer signs, I just need to figure out which signs are where - LOL.   I promise this will be done soon!  

There are also new items being added every day, so it is a little hard to keep up w/ them all.  I know we have recently added some really cool stuff.  We are actively researching as much as we can about what it is we have.

Christmas is coming!

There are only 66 days until Christmas .... WOW I know ! 

I don't know if you are like me but, I am always looking for the perfect gift for my friends & family. Do you have a guy that has everything and enjoys Beer ?  Or is your best friend in search of something to spruce up his "mancave"?   Or is your coin collecting family member set on the ONE coin they're missing?  Well, we may have something to help you this year!   

As far as coin collecting,all I know is coin collecting can be very specific and sometimes confusing to someone who is not around coins.  Trust me - I KNOW !  I recently started working with Billy, owner of Old American Coins, and I knew nothing about the coins he was having me work with.  There are so many different things to look for, mint marker, year, type of coin, and condition.  It takes awhile, but once you start working with the coins, you get the hang of it.  If you just started collecting coins & would like more info about coin collecting, check out: http://www.usmint.gov/collectorsClub/ - it has a LOT of very very helpful information!   I also recommend setting up an appt w/ Billy and meeting him at the shop to help you.  Billy not only sells coins, he also buys coins, so if you have a collection you have been looking to sell, call Billy - He would love to check out what you have. 

Billy sells a lot of different things in his shops, you definitely should come and check them out.  We recently revamped our Katy location (Dove Tail Antiques), we have a lot more on display now, including more neon beer signs !

Katy Rice Harvest Festival, Will You be there?

I think one of my favorite things about the fall is all of the family friendly activities you can find throughout the communities.  My personal favorite are the festivals, shopping, entertainment, and lots to eat!  Can't go wrong with that !  

Every year, the city of Katy hosts the Katy Rice Harvest Festival.  There will be MANY opportunities to shop, as the streets are lined w/ vendors and booths full of really fun stuff.  There is also entertainment for the kids, bounce houses, carnival type rides,  live music, and games.  If you are looking for something fun for everyone in the family, come on out !!

The Festival is Saturday & Sunday , October 8th & 9th.

You may be wondering why I am promoting such a great event?  Well ... we will be there !  Both days!  We will have everything out and ready for you to see!  You may have to peek in the store (Dovetail Antiques) to see everything we have to offer, but we will also have a booth outside.   Come check out our Vintage Neon Beer Signs, our coins, collectibles, and LOTS LOT more!!
